Postions Overview:
All positions are growth positions. In-house training is provided for all new employees regardless of the individual’s experience and background. All employees work with their hands and are involved in every aspect of their projects including: design for manufacturability review; raw material selection and preparation; fixture design in SolidWorks; CNC machine set-up, programming and operation; inspection and documentation; and deburring, cleaning, and packaging completed parts. Additionally, all employees are encouraged to support: quotes and proposal generation; facility maintenance and upgrades; marketing; new customer development (sales); continuous improvement initiatives; new employee training and more. Project Engineers are responsible for the prosperous completion of projects from start to finish. Apogee projects are highly diverse in scope, nature, and complexity. Typically, they require careful management of various aspects from planning through packaging. Successful candidates accurately deploy their time and talent across all disciplines of the position. These include Project Management, Design (CAD) and Programming (CAM) in SolidWorks, Conversational Machine Programming, CNC Machining, Manual and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Inspection, Laser Engraving, and Project Documentation. Project Engineers regularly engage in teaching new employees, support continuous improvement tasks and complete facility maintenance. Individuals who will excel in this position must possess high attention to detail, good three-dimensional visualization skills, familiarity with SolidWorks and an affinity for programming in multiple languages. This position requires individual accountability and provides: unwavering team support; a continuously challenging work environment; daily collaboration with a driven team of individuals; and the pride that comes with working on mission critical components for space-faring and other demanding industries.
Our College Co-ops and Interns provide support to our Project Engineers. In this role, Co-ops and Interns are exposed and trained in all elements of successful project completion. A careful but effective balance is maintained between learning and applying newly acquired skills in the production of deliverable services to our customers. Co-ops and Interns will be introduced to Programming in SolidWorks, Conversational Machine Programming, CNC Machining, Manual and CMM Inspection, Laser Engraving, and Project Documentation. They will also engage in Engineer-Led Design for Manufacturability Planning and assist with Receiving and Facility Maintenance. Individuals who will excel in this position must possess high attention to detail, good three-dimensional visualization skills, familiarity with SolidWorks, and an affinity for programming in multiple languages. This position requires individual accountability and provides: unwavering team support; a continuously challenging work environment; daily collaboration with a driven team of individuals; and the pride that comes with working on mission critical components for space-faring and other demanding industries.
Our High School Interns provide support to our Project Engineers, Co-ops and College Interns. In this role, High School Interns are exposed to all elements of successful project completion in a safe and low risk role. The primary focus of this position is on education and exposure to the elements of design, manufacturing, and inspection through daily collaboration with our highly skilled team. Individuals who will excel in this position must possess high attention to detail; good three-dimensional visualization skills; interest in manufacturing; and an affinity for hands-on problem solving. We provide an opportunity for our students to experience the pride that comes with working with a team on mission critical components for space-faring and other demanding industries.
